What advice would you give someone starting this project? If you are working with modeling chocolate and sculpting something with a lot of detail, keep a cold drink close by to periodically hold in your hands to cool down. I had a rough time keeping her face from smooshing due to my body heat, and just by chance I realized that when I stopped to pick up my drink-it cooled down my hand and kept the chocolate from melting down. Just make sure to keep a towel to dry your hands. Also, when you need to attach the pieces together, I found that using a measuring cup of hot water close by was good. I use a pairing knife (sitting in the water to stay warm) You can hold it to the chocolate and then press the pieces together. I use the pairing knife because it has a great flat, narrow tip to press down the edges of where the two pieces meet.

I think you did an awesome job! Betty looks awesome! But what I want to know is how you did the actual cake cover, what material is it fondant? Chocolate? Please advise of how you make it because it looks great!

Thank you so much! I did use black fondant to cover the base cake and the bathtub is cake also. I had to make sure and cover the tub (upside down) and let chill for at least an hour or so before turning upright. Iwanted to make sure that it set to the cake completly before turning over so it did peel off or get dinged up. There wasn't any fondant under the bubbles so it needed to be set and holding in place. The modeling chocolate I used was Betty, ducky, seat, leaves & the happy birthday. Everything that was black was fondant. I hope this helps - thank you so much for checking it out!
