What was your inspiration?
A coworker of mine came to me a few days before his wedding. Their friend wasn't able to make bags for his fiancee's bridesmaids and they were really desperate. Without my help, his soon-to-be wife wasn't going to have any gifts for her girls and I could not let that happen. I was thrilled yet stressed all at the same time. So with no patterns or experience making bags, I shot for simple, quick and whatever felt right at the moment. She wanted a messenger bag/ chester wallace variaty and I tried my best to deliver. I loved working with the amazing leathers and I tried to keep my designs simple so you could really enjoy their natural beauty.
What are you most proud of?
Getting them finished on time and creating such beauty straight from the heart. She was absolutely thrilled with them and was so happy to find out I had made one especially for her. It feels amazing to be someone's hero for the day!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Take your time, sweetheart and have a ball! Think of the simplest way to make a bag and then try it!
