'Sirdar' 9352 knitting pattern, 'Sirdar' big softie super chunky wool in red (shade 0339), 8mm and 10mm 'Essentials' knitting needles, red cotton thread and sewing needle.
What was your inspiration?
My nanna taught me to knit years ago before she died, and my grandma encouraged me to recommence knitting after 15 years, it's taken me a week to create this hat, and I restarted it about 8 times, but I am so proud to pick up an old skill.

Discovering the knitting shop in town
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Go to your local knitting shop and get chatting to the lovely people in there.
