What was your inspiration?
A friend of mine contacted me through my Etsy site and requested a custom order. She wanted mittens that are longer than most because most mittens are too short and expose the wrists which lets cold air and snow get on the skin and up the sleeves. I looked for patterns of long mittens and found this one on Ravelry. It looked interesting to make and it was just what she asked for!
What are you most proud of?
This pattern was written for Magic Loop. I tried Magic Loop and decided I hate Magic Loop. So, I used DPN's instead. I got the gauge correct using DPN's. I had to do some figuring at the end because it got very tight and the needles were slipping out. I switched to a shorter length of the needles and that solved that problem.
Also, this was my first attempt at mittens.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
If you're like me and don't like Magic Loop; don't be discouraged. It *can* be done with DPN's!
