What materials did you use? Cotton jersey, acrylic paint + fabric medium, button-craft thread, patience.

What are you most proud of? Color-blocking and piecing the underlayer. I started this when all I had to work from was an AC scrap bag, so I combined some of the larger scraps to make big enough fabric to cut the sleeves from, The back has a center seam added, and the sleeve underlayers are each made from three different colors, which you can see in the detail photos. I love the combination of off-white thread and navy top layer, and will probably use it again. There could be a skirt in my future...

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Use the good quality jersey for binding strips. I didn't, and the strips were very stretchy and uncooperative. I still haven't found a binding stitch I like, and wish I'd tested a few different ones first, but this whole garment was a test, really. Small applique pins were helpful for the binding stage: you can see them pics of the front and back image (it's since been completed!). Overall, it's not a difficult project, but does take planning, paint, and patience so I didn't rate it super-simple. Top-stitching the shoulder and sleeve seams was the hardest, as it's lots of layers of fabric to sew through.
