Instructions

The pattern came from Quilting Quickly II. The chapter was Advanced Strips, but have also seen it called Summer in the Park and Illusion. I used the binding technique from Machine Quilting with Wendy Burns.

Hoffman Bali prints, jelly roll.

What was your inspiration?

My step-daughter and her husband were married in Bali. Hoffman Bali prints are made there, so thought that this would make a perfect Christmas present.

What are you most proud of?

Learned several new techniques with this project. I "stitched in the ditch", learned Tube quilting, and a new method of binding a quilt. Also used monofilament thread for the first time. Not sure why the photo loaded sideways....maybe if you can turn your computer?

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Make sure that you a consistent with your seam allowances and width of your strips. All my squares did not turn out the same size.
