What materials did you use? Cottons from my stash & some my new stash of blend fabrics "magic garden" & "spring promise" I got from Craftsy!

What are you most proud of? That I broke into new fabrics immediately! I've vowed not to "save" fabrics anymore! LOL! Also that I got it done so quickly, given that I changed my pallet numerous times! My friend has a few favorite colors & trying to incorporate them all was troublesome, so I finally went with this soft soothing pallet. She loves the ocean & no longer lives near it, so I thought I'd bring it to her!

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Like Tara says, pick fabrics you like so you'll have fun working on it! I know this sounds silly but sometimes I want to save fabrics b/c I'm not ready to send them off! :). But incorporating them makes me smile & have joy throughout the process even when I'm cursing something! :). Oh & if you really want to get the project done quickly don't try to go rogue & reinvent QAYG - LOL -use the tried & true methods - a lot less cursing & a lot more smiles! Thnx for the site recommendations Tara! LOL. Not that I'm saying not to try new things - just not if you are on a time constraint! Oh & in lieu of hand stitching the back panels to each other, I just did a decorative stitch w/ my machine, which saved time & added to the bohemian look of it & I loved the way it came out! So to "match" the add on side, I did the same stitch on the left side of the attached panel part as well. Also I really wanted to give it a bohemian vibe so instead of doing a solid as my borders I chose the soft print which I really love!

What a lovely project. The colours are soothing and beautiful. I bet your friend really loves it.

Thanks!! They aren't colors I typically gravitate to, so that's great to hear! Happy holidays!

OOOPS! I thought I had given the site where I found this (I think I posted it in my class forum)! It's called "Gradiance Bed Runner" found on the Quilt Dad blog :)

Oooh, I love this bed runner! The colors are so soothing! You're inspiring me to get into my growing scrap collection!

Thank you!! I've made 2 & 1/2 now (still have to quilt mine) :) They're fun & fairly quick to make - if you don't keep changing your fabric everyday! :)
