Share a little about the materials, processes and techniques used to create this piece. Created from a recent wedding photo. Used a variety of pencils from 4H to 9B. I also added some highlights with a white gel pen and sparkle in the bride's hair with a X-Acto blade.

this is beautiful the attention to detail is wonderful proportions look great and contrast is wonderful, the bright light from his face down i find distracting and it unintentionally divides the couple taking away from his face, Also her hair tends to fade out too quickly. Great work

Thank you for your critique. I appreciate it! One of the things that had me consider this photo was that back-lighting and the effect on her hair. It was uncanny and trying to capture it was a challenge, for me. In doing so I may've overworked it a bit. And now that you've pointed this out I now see with new eyes how the lighting could've been softened as it does tend to come to the front and cause a divide. Thank you very much for taking the time to offer this!

Until I read the comments above, I saw a netted veil at the top of her head and between the newlyweds. GREAT job, this brought a smile to my face. YOUNG LOVE!

I see what you mean. Thank you. And yes, young love. They're wonderful together. They're now missionaries in Italy.
