Materials
These bears shown are all. Made of fabric finds, mostly vintage.
What was your inspiration?
I've been making bears for over 30 years. My kids asked me to make them one and I couldn't stop.
What are you most proud of?
These are child safe & child proof. They are all cotton, shown in these photos is some chenille bedspread, a vintage tablecloth, some cord & some homespun. They have front paws embroidered on ultrasuede and a lot of detail work. They can be kicked around & put in the washer & dryer. I can easily accomodate any theme by varying the fabric and the embroidery on the front. And can match them to any bedroom set.
If going to a child I like to embroider their name on them.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Any goofs just make them more lovable. I sometimes put patches on the bum or a heart. And I like to embroider a bee on them somewhere.
