This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Stitch & Slash »

Instructions

I added the netting at the very last step, because I thought it looked boring.

Difficulty:

Category: Other

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Women

Style: Whimsical

Materials

Cotton fat quarters, netting, beads, buttons and yarn.

What was your inspiration?

One of the designs that Carol Ann Waugh showed looked like streams to me, and I just added a few islands.

What are you most proud of?

Choosing the colors was harder than I thought it would be, but I just kept adding yarn and buttons and tried to pull in all together.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Don't give up! Even if you think it is ugly, keep adding more color, yarn, beads and you will be surprised! The finished product will look totally different than the beginning.

I love the last layer of fabric in your piece. It gives it so much movement that it actually DOES remind me of a river with islands. Nice job!
