What was your inspiration?

I was well on my way to completing Laura Nelkin's class "Mastering Lace Shawls, when I reviewed her class "Knitting with Beads". Instead of completing my Clarus shawl with the Mastering class, I waited until completing the Pioneer Cuff and then, completed my Clarus shawl using her beading instructions. I love it!

What are you most proud of?

Completing an intricate lace shawl with beading!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Relax, take a deep breath, and complete one row at a time. Don't sweat the future rows. Use life lines and review Laura's class as often as necessary. The end product is worth it!!

Thank you! I enjoy new endeavors. As I proceeded with the lace bind off and was about 1/3 completed, I realized that I would not have enough yarn to complete the shawl! Fortunatley, I had purchased various yarns for Laura's next Trapeze Mystery KAL and the sparkly gray was just the ticket. Oh, those 'creative opportunities!!

If I wind up with something half this pretty, I'll be very, very happy.

I'm sure you will end up with something that you positively LOVE!! Stay relaxed, only worry about 1 row at a time, DEFINITELY use life lines, and re-watch the video as often as needed.

Thank you! I can only enjoy wearing it in some of the colder mover theaters right now. I look forward to knitting Laura Nelkin's Accola pattern, too!
