What was your inspiration?
I had received a box of gourmet chocolate truffles from a friend and at that time I was experimenting with different felting crafts and techniques. Well, I guess that lead me to try my hand at making felt truffles!
For a graduation gift I gave a box of felted truffles to a friend and she was ready to peal open the packaging and dive in until she realized it wasn't real - that definitely made my day!
It's quite amusing to have a bowl of truffles sitting in front of guests and them reaching out to grab one and having to stop them from popping it into their mouths.. a good laugh to end the night :)
What are you most proud of?
When people receive my hand-made gifts and show surprise that I had actually made that. Also I had grown up with no interest in crafting but after completing a sewing class in high school I was hooked - Since then I have taught myself how to take my sewing from purses and handbags to sewing garments to knitting. I am always surprised after completing any craft challenge how much easier it was than when I had first started it!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
To take a deep breath, visualize the end product and be patient - And also to have fun! Wouldn't it be great to grab a group of friends to make this as gifts? :)
