Beauytiful! Did you use the spherical tin to bake the cake?? I've just brought one and wondered how easy or difficult they are to use??

I didn't even think about the cake. Good question. Also, what cake recipe did you use? I have used. Ball pan before with madeira cake. Cake held it shape but wasnt the nicest tasting!

Yes, I then split each half and spread a thin layer of buttercream on each layer. Not too much or it will change the shape to more oval. These cakes were a lemon pound cake but I have also used a white velvet cake recipe . It needs to be a denser cake.

Thanks, not as hard as it would seem. I practiced on a styrofoam ball first.
