What was your inspiration?

Log cabin is my favorite quilt block - I love how it grows and builds on itself. I have been wanting to work with batik fabric for a long time and when my aunt graduated this year, it was the perfect reason to put it all together.

What are you most proud of?

I love that it is traditional with a twist, but the part I am most proud of is that I longarm quilted it myself with feathers I learned from watch Sharon Shambert.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Look to the past - women quilters of the past say a lot about their lives and themselves with their designs and fabric that they couldn't speak outright. Then make it your own and decide what message you want to leave for the future.

Lets see, I am just finishing hand quilting the weddign quilt I posted, I have another quilt top I just finished piecing that needs to have a border added then to also be hand quilted, and I just finished the first round of a round robin. I also spend free time kitting dish rags and I want to make some machine quilted pot holders for christmas.
