Category: Quilting

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Home

Style: Romantic, Casual

Materials

Batiks - Hoffman Bali Batiks Lagoon

What was your inspiration?

All the great batiks blocks I saw - couldn't stand it- had to do this course in batiks. The photos are a little greener than the actual fabrics - they range toward a blue-green

What are you most proud of?

Apr blocks - had too much fun with the hexies to remember that I don't like hand sewing

Reminds me of the emerald city in the Wizard of Oz. I love it.

I love your disconnected hexie! I'm behind because I've had way to many trips and too much company (they stay in my "sewing" room) so I'm way behind. I still have my hexies to do. You've inspired me by making this simple line very interesting!

Thanks so much - I had fun with the hexies even though I didn't like the hand sewing - there were so many wonderful hexy block projects

Did you use fabric by the yard or the fat quarters? I am finally looking for fabrics for mine and your quilt is so inspiring!

Thanks! I bought a 12 fat quarter bundle of the Lagoon batiks from Hancock's of Padukah & then found a couple of other batiks to go with them at local quilt stores and found 2 others in my stash.

This is beautiful. I *love* your string hexie block with the "wait for me" hexie! I am now caught up and will be starting my April blocks. It's great to see what all you folks are doing. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks, Alyx - that hexie could be an independent being or just late to the lineup.

How beautiful. Green is my very favorite color. I love your April blocks. I love taking this course and seeing all the great ideas people have. It helps me see outside of the box.

Thank you, Penny. I love anything in the green to blue range. That's why our Terrain line was such a departure for me.

How lovely. How tranquil. How peaceful. How comforting. Just beautiful. I don't think you need anything to make them pop. They're perfect as they are.

!Don't you just love green? If you bind in a dark jeweled, emerald, or forest green, Wow! the blocks will pop! Just a suggestion. Even a black border would bring them out. I made a green quilt in one of the other courses and the black border shows the blocks really well. Can't wait to see the finished product! Great job!

Thanks, pieceful1. I loved your Green Dreams quilt. I have no idea what I'm going to use for the sashing. I'm hoping to find a different batik for that. We'll see what I run across.
