I never cared for or understood Red, but find as I have grown older, that I do 'get' red now. I have pushed myself to expand my hue pallet, but still struggle with including weakly saturated, flat fabrics. I will try harder in the future ;)

I added a third photo showing my favorite and least liked fabrics combined. I must admit, the addition of the least liked have given depth and interest. In creating palettes, I tend to spend a lot of time finding fabrics that are exactly the same in value and saturation, or are evenly stepped gradations. By adding fabrics that don't fit this mold, there is a more chaotic look, which is also more interesting.

I love your saturated colors! I have a hard time with desaturated shades as well. I think if I had even lighter colors (like white) or neutrals against them it would change the feel of the quilt and make them pop more in the way we love!
