When I first started the class I was like meh... I want to get to that beautiful cowl! So I thought of the hat and fingerless mitts as chores to get through so that I would have the skills for the cowl. I have to admit, I am really enjoying this hat and may make more of them in two colors to see how that looks while I'm waiting for my cowl yarn to arrive! As usual, you have written a great pattern and provided excellent instruction in working it so that it looks professionally knit-- even though I'm clearly a novice. Thank you!

Super easy, fast knit and learning new skills as you go. Great project to start with as your first brioche knit! Mine expanded terribly when I got it wet... hoping it condenses back into shape once it dries. Keeping my fingers crossed in the meantime!

Unfortunately, after wet blocking it became a giant hat. Is this common to brioche in general or is it the Cascade 220 that I used? Is there a way to shrink it without turning it into a felted bowl (I've done that before with a really pretty Manos del Uruguay silk blend beret. lol)
