Basic Booties following MellonyBe's patt

Make It

This project was made from an independent Craftsy designer's pattern:
Basic Baby Booties »

Instructions

I used pattern by MellonyBe : http://www.craftsy.com/pattern/crocheting/clothing/basic-baby-booties/32436#ratings

Difficulty:

Category: Crocheting

Type of item: Clothing

For: Infant/Baby

Style: Classic, Casual, Traditional, Cute

Materials

sport weight yarn, 2 flower buttons, two, small pieces of ribbon, crochet hook, needle & thread to sew on buttons & ribbon

What was your inspiration?

The pattern was free and I wanted to see if baby booties would fit My Twinn doll (23" doll), and they do. I had just created a sewing pattern for a nightgown (and peasant blouse & skirt) for My Twinn doll and wanted slippers to go with it. I'm happy that they fit. The photo shows My Twinn doll wearing them.

What are you most proud of?

I made them by the pattern. And, I embellished them by my own idea, with what I had on hand.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

I'd say you need to be familiar with crochet pattern lingo and usual crocheting to follow the pattern. It was written a bit differently than most patterns I follow. Like where she says "Hdc 4." I really think she means one half-double crochet in each of the next four stitches.

I think it would be fun to use furry yarn, at east for the top edging.

Thank you, MellonyBe for this pattern!
