Share a little about the materials, processes and techniques used to create this piece. Strathmore 60 lb sketch pad - 2B pencil - anxiously waiting for my new art supplies to arrive!

What are you most proud of? That I was able to draw the border!

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Use the Albertian Veil!

Hello Mewzikgal, Congratulations on posting your second drawing. Also it is appreciated that you included information on the material. [I hope that your shipment of art supplies has now arrived.] Your use of the border and Albertian Veil resulted in a successful spatial structure. You are seeing and executing that structure so that it also becomes the foundation of the composition and design. Well done! Also, the shading or tonal expression is better controlled in this drawing than your previous one and that leads to an enhanced experience of space and ultimately the re-experience of the artist's intent for the viewer. One thing you may consider is how to vary line quality and/or weight. For example, in the trees, it can flatten or at the very least not contribute to a projection of form in space. So when an artist describes both sides of the tree trunk with lines similar in weight and consistency the result is flat design rather than illusionistic depicition of form and space.

[criticism continued] All-in-all a successful interpretation of the assignment. I look forward to seeing the posting of your next drawing.
