I cut up and trimmed around the decals/embroidery work on some t-shirts I got from band when I was in high school. Printed out pictures onto iron on transfers, then ironed them onto the remaining pieces of the shirt fabric... I used a light weight iron-on interfacing around the edges of the shirt material (about .5") because I had heard stories of unraveling, or severe stretching and I was hoping this would help a little. I need help with layout though. any suggestions? I have tried to keep these items close to the timeline. Or just what do you think so far?
What was your inspiration?
I thought it would be a cool idea to do with my old shirts and did not discover until recently that people have done this... ;)
What are you most proud of?
The iron on transfers. I was concerned that they would not turn out.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Gather the shirts you have. determine the size before cutting and plan a layout first. I think I may not be so stuck right now if I hadn't just "dove in"!
