What advice would you give someone starting this project? I loved doing this with the new way we were taught doing half square triangles it was great. My block came our really great. I am really happy with my colors. Just jump in and try all kinds of colors it really does work.

Very nice! I am using up my Civil War stash as well...but bought ivory background fabric. I like your dark one!

Thanks still not sure if it is too dark or not, but my husband really likes it and it is going to be for him so we shall see. I am going to go and take a look at yours.

The dark to me is rich and a " man quilt" should be more subdued, I think. I just made one for my husband in the Birch bark Lodge line (browns,hunter green, beige, pumpkin) all mostly woodsy prints
