Yikes! But before running out to buy a new one, I would get it checked out first. It could be fixed and be good as new, for cheaper then getting a new one.

I took my Singer 2000 and a 2010 to be serviced part of the problem was the feed dogs had to be replaced. My machines are about thirty years old. It made a big difference.

Sometimes you can also get a great deal on a used machine that has been traded in, but regardless, you need to ask questions about how frequently the machines need servicing, the types of problems you might anticipate, and such. Also, make sure you try the machines at the store. Some will feel right for you, others won't be as comfortable to operate. You'll want to describe exactly what kind of sewing you'll be doing so that you'll have the options you need.

Try retreading top and bottom. Make SURE u have the right bobbin...causes similar issues if not. I took a class from George Siscilliano and he uses a Brother Laura Ashley 2000 something. Comes w/work table extension and does a great job. Take a look at it. Not as pricey as some. But I agree..buy it from a speciality shop where service is available. Google for one in your area

Oh, dear. You need a new sewing machine for sure! I love my Baby Lock, but I also know that Pfaff and Bernina have excellent reputations. None of them are cheap, but I would really advise against picking something up from just anywhere. I think it makes most sense to go to places that sell the machines, check out what they have and then look them up online for ratings.

it would not be so bad.. but it happens on almost every project.. it will not sew one seam line with out some sort of bubbling.. I am getting very frustrated.. I am going to get my self a new machine any ideas.. and I will pay more than 200 (that is all the machine I am using right now cost.)) I almost feel that a walmart special one could do as well as this one..

I am just learning how to free motion quilt and it didn't look pretty. I decided for now that any projects that are gifts will be hand quilted until I can learn this technique. I use a Brother CS6000 from Walmart and love the machine and am still learning about it.

I recently took a class from George Siscilliano who does beautiful quilts. He uses a Brother Laura Ashley model 2000 something. I was all set to pay a lot more for a machine until I took the class. Check out the Brother. Comes w/sturdy table extension
