Instructions

When you look for this pattern on the Schoolhouse Press site, scroll to almost the bottom of the "patterns" page.
I consider myself to be a confident beginner. This project was challenging in that it is not conventional and it took me a while to "wrap my head around" how it was constructed. I used stitch markers that slipped onto the needles because that was all I had but I definitely think ...

What was your inspiration?

I thought this pattern was pretty cool the way it is knit all-in-one. I wanted to try it.

What are you most proud of?

That I actually figured it out. It was fun when I finally had my ah ha moment and "got" how it was going to come together!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Don't be afraid of this pattern. If I can do it so can you. Take your time and make sure you are careful to increase and decrease at the proper place. Also, I found that blocking it was a must.

I'm debating weather to make this one of my to do projects! I was inspired by your beautiful sweater and think I'll give it a whirl.

Thanks Sue. I love those acorn buttons. I had them in my stash but I only had 2! There was much discussion and debate with my husband and kids about if I should use them and how. I knew they were going on the sweater just not how I was going to pull it off. :-)

Thanks Sue! I had the acorn buttons in my stash but I only had 2. I knew I was going to use them but I wasn't sure how I was going to pull it off! :-) A trip to Jo Ann's solved it when I found the simple "all purpose" buttons in the perfect color. BTW you should give the pattern a try... once I got my brain cells functioning on Elizabeth Zimmerman's wave length, it was a pretty easy project! :-)

I just made a Baby surprise out of sock yarn. It is so very small but Mason will be delivered early due to complications, I didn't make the stripes but will with the next one. Great job with yours!

Oh Elane, I hope all goes well with Mason's early arrival for both Mom and Baby! I can't imagine how tiny your jacket turned out using sock yarn it must be the cutest thing ever!
