Is this your project? Can you share instructions or a pattern with the Craftsy community?

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Functional

For: Infant/Baby

Style: Cute

Materials

all cotton fabric, when its finished I will add instructions

What was your inspiration?

The cost of making this little baby quilt was around $15 all up. Making it from memory, from some of the tips from the craftsy courses...with no pattern to speak of....... but that doesnt mean anyone else has to, so here goes with the instructions:

materials 1/2 metre Background fabric and 1/2 metre print fabric
batting I used low loft
Backing Calico

Cut four inch strips of both the printed and background fabrics. from this lay one on top of the other right sides together, and cut four in squares from this you should have 18 pairs. leaving them right sides together draw a line from corner to corner diagonally then stitch 1/4 in from this line on both sides to yield to 1/2 square triangle blocks. 36 all up.lay them all out in sets of four, Here is where you can decide if you want pin wheels or what I call envelopes, where three squares have the background butted together in the centre and the other one is flipped the other way, hence the envelope look. or you could just have them all running in the same direction. If you are making a four square block (pin wheels) then stitch them all together to for 9 blocks. Add a strip of the printed fabric 2 inch wide to 6 of the blocks, then make three columns (being block strip block strip block) you will have three columns next put a strip the length of the columns between the colums (two are needed) then frame it all by stitching another two inch strip around the border. and for fun a four inch back ground border around that, and then a 2 1/2 border around that, then a two inch strip for the binding. sandwich it all together with quilt top, batting and backing, I used basting glue.

Quilt it however you like, I just did a simple line inside the printed triangles. As I need it to be done and in the post tomorrow.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

This has to be the easiest quilt to make and for me one of the fastest. I started about 3pm worked til 6.30 and the quilt top was finished. took me a lot longer to do the quilting.

Enjoy

so far not a bad baby quilt for under $10, of course adding the batting and backing will bring it up a bit,
