What was your inspiration?

The month we did paper piecing inspired me to start a baby quilt.

What are you most proud of?

I actually managed to complete all four of the 3 1/2 inch frog blocks after a slight mistake on the first block. Being so small, I am glad I printed five patterns.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Practice paper piecing with bigger blocks to start with if you are new to paper piecing. The baby frong blocks are 3 1/2 inches and a little putzy, but I think they are cute! They will go in the outside corners of the quilt.

I'd like everyone's opinion. Do you think I should add another white strip around the outside to match the inner white strip? The binding and backing will be pink with white polka dots.

One little baby duck is showing his independence, and yes, I did it on purpose!

I don't much care for the head on the snail block, but I'm not sure how to fix it... Anyone have any suggestions?

Something I learned in the Quick Strip Paper Piecing class with Peggy Martin. If I make a mistake on the paper, I can use 3M tape (the kind that rips very easily) over the paper where I already sewed, and then I can use the paper pattern again.

I bought two books quite a few years ago, but never did anything with them. "Easy Mix & Match Machine Paper Piecing" by Carol Doak. I have another one of her books as well, but the patterns for this baby quilt is in the book I mentioned.
