Instructions

I bought a charm pack and simply sewed them together into blocks, then sewed the blocks together until the size looked about right for a baby quilt. Then I used information from "Machine Quilting" by Wendy Butler Berns to layer the backing, batting and quilt-top. I stitched in the ditch to quilt it, then attached a binding per her instructions.

For: Infant/Baby

Style: Cute

Materials

"Honey Honey" charm pack by Kate Spain for Moda quilting cotton.

What was your inspiration?

The fabric has the color scheme that the mom-to-be will be using in her nursery.

What are you most proud of?

I made a quilt without using a pattern, so that I would make choices along the way instead of just following instructions. I want to make original things and this was a way to get started.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

It is very easy when you use fabrics from a charm pack which are already coordinated.
For your first project, it does help to move things along quickly and have a success before tackling something trickier.
