Baby Quilanket

Baby Quilanket

Baby Quilanket
Solid flannel back
Full pieced front

Instructions

No instructions. This is just a large strip sewn quilt top on the front. I didn't add batting and quilt, though, because of the heat here. I simply backed it with flannel for a new baby so it's a cross between a light quilt and a (large) receiving blanket!

Difficulty:

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Functional

For: Boys

Style: Whimsical

Materials

100% cotton quilt fabrics, including Kona, on the face and flannel on the back.

What was your inspiration?

The baby's Dad just came home from being deployed. The baby bedding for his room is blue camouflage. I couldn't find blue camouflage, but I thought the blue (with orange) would complement the other baby bedding.

What are you most proud of?

The finished piece is perfect for a new baby - soft and cozy without being too heavy.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Have fun - there are no rules to a project like this!
