I was able to access both patterns you linked. You didn't mention how many stitches you casted on but after staring at your photos for a long time, I casted on 72 stitches to make an infant size, using sport weight yarn and size 3 needles. Those who cannot find the pattern, if you go on ravelry.com and search for pixie hat, there are 2 patterns, one by Diana Chan Taylor and the other by Crystal Palace Yarns. They are both free downloads. These are the pattern used here, with some modifications by the OP for yarn weight and pattern.

Thank you for posting this. I keep trying to modify this posting, but I think there is a site issue. My links don't work when I publish them to the project. It has been a while since I have made one of these hats and I think you are spot on with the 72 stitches for cast on.
