What was your inspiration?
I wanted to 'finish' this uncompleted pillowcase from 1940.
What are you most proud of?
I found this stamped pillowcase in some of my mother's 'sewing stuff'. She said she purchased it at a 'dimestore' in Oskaloosa, IA in 1940, several months before I was born. She never got around to embroidering it. I took it home, embroidered it, and have it in my collection of vintage linens. The pillowcase seam was 'off' a bit at the end, so I took the seam apart and resewed it so the ends matched perfectly.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
You can purchase Aunt Martha's iron on transfers and make your own pillowcases very similar to this one.
