Is this your project? Can you share instructions or a pattern with the Craftsy community?

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Functional

For: Girls

Style: Whimsical

Materials

Cotton Flanel, poly batting

What was your inspiration?

This is a baby gift for my best friends daughter.

What are you most proud of?

I think I have picked up all of the strings and clippings. I think????

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

This takes longer than a quilt that you machine quilt after piecing. Last time I made a rag quilt, I said it was the last. But they really do come out cute.

I don't think they stop shedding until they're a few years old or until you give them away. They are fun to make, they turn out so nice and are easy to make. I taught a group of 5th grade girls to sew and they loved their quilts when finished.

Your quilt looks so fluffy... how many layers did you use? Maybe it's the depth of your seam allowance??? Looks really nice and cuddly. Congratulations!

Just 3 layers. I used a 1 in seam allowance. Next time I am going to use flannel as a batting and include that in the seam allowance.
