Type of item: Functional

For: Infant/Baby

Style: Traditional

Materials

Cotton fabric mainly left over from other projects, cotton thread and polyester wadding (batting).

What was your inspiration?

Lily is my first great-grandchild (I also now have a great-grandson, despite my youth!!!!). I made this quilt for Lily partly from bits and pieces left over from other projects and partly from a bundle of nursery fabrics I bought in an on-line sale. Lily's Mummy is very much into the colour pink, so I used pink and lilac as a theme. The lilac looks a bit blue in the photos, but in reality it's a really pretty lilac colour.

What are you most proud of?

I'm pleased with the little appliqued hearts on every other block (which also helped to cover up one or two rather dodgy joins, as I remember!).

Thank you - if there's a sneaky way to cover up dodgy bits of sewing I'll be the first to try it out!

I love the heart applique, that adds so much to your quilt, it looks so professionally done!

The hearts were dual purpose - no doubt I'll be using a similar idea often in the future!!
