What materials did you use? I used swiss batiste cotton

What are you most proud of? I like to smock but I'm no expert but I thought it turned out really pretty. I enjoy adding the bullion roses too.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? If you've never smocked the A-Z of smocking and the A-Z of sewing for smocking are great books to help you.

Precious dress - your smocking is lovely. I like the name Piper Willow. I hope you post her christening gown when it's finished; maybe a picture from the christening ceremony.

Thank you. I will post a pic of the christening gown when I finish it. The magazines and books I mentioned are Australian. They are the best instructions I've come across. I know they have a lot of international readers. Their website is www.countrybumpkin.com.au

There's also an A-Z of bullion stitches which is great. Not only roses but all sorts of flowers and animals etc.
