Materials

Soft worsted weight yarn, in 3.5 oz. (100 g) skeins [Blue Diamond - Dark Blue (1), Medium Blue (2), Light Blue (2), and White (3); Pink Diamond - Pink (5), and White (3)]; and a size H (5.00 mm) crochet hook.

What was your inspiration?

One of my nieces was having twin boys. I needed bright afghans to go with the Gingham Hearts afghan I had made for their older sister. I used the design of the Pink Diamond afghan making one in bright green and one in bright blue. I used the smaller border for the boys.

What are you most proud of?

I really like the way these turned out with the two different border choices to make them very versatile.

I haven't tried it yet, but was thinking since the Blue Diamond afghan is like a baseball diamond radiating out from one corner, it would also be fun to make starting with greens and changing to tans.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

The Pink Diamond afghan alternates evenly between pink and white diamonds and is worked in complete rounds.

The Blue Diamond afghan is like a baseball diamond and is worked from the dark blue diamond out. Follow the instructions closely regarding turning rows since not all rounds are worked all the way around.

A petite and lacy border are provided for either afghan.

As shown in the pictures, the finished sizes are: 42" square (pink) and 39" square (blue).
