Baby Cocoon

Pattern Info

Pattern info for this project can be found here:
Ripples & Ruffles by Kim Kotary »

Instructions

The pattern calls for worsted weight yarn but I used DK and double stranded it to produce a thicker weight.

At first I didn't like how the cocoon looked, but I'm glad I stuck with it because the finished product is adorable & cute.

Crochet in back loops for the entire project. I kept forgetting. (ha ha) The only time both loops were used was for the ruffle.

Difficulty:

Category: Crocheting

Type of item: Accessory

For: Infant/Baby

Style: Cute, Whimsical

Materials

Cascade Kaleidoscope Cherub Collection (10 skein Craftsy deal!) variegated purple - 4 skeins; Jenny Watson Baby Soft DK Lilac (1 skein) & Cream (1 skein); 5.5mm hook

What was your inspiration?

A friend of mine is having a baby and I wanted to make something unique for her little girl.

What are you most proud of?

That I stuck with the project and finished it. I'm so excited to present this cocoon set to her and see her baby all snuggled up in it after she is born.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Try something new and don't give up when you're not sure about the end result. You may surprise yourself!
