What do you like and what do you dislike about your project so far?

I love this pattern, especially for working on while there are other distractions. Working over 14 stitches around and around is so easy!

What else should we know to be able to help you?

Talk about knitting to the end of the ball, I have barely two stitches to go and have run out... I'm thinking of back tracking a few rows and (re) knitting them in the Pink (from Center box) and embroidering 'Love Baby' - kind of like a name tag.

Do you think it will look okay? Intentional?

Ok, I see the project at the top of the page - how do I print out the instructions how to make it - I don't see anything to click on to get me to the actual directions.

Photo looks like you are binding off. You can continue binding off with the loop over loop method. Just pick up next loop slip it over next loop, repeat to the end of row. Note! Your bind off will be a little tighter but, it allows you to finish when you run out and there is no more available yarn.

Rip a few rows and then add a border with a contrasting color. The blanket will look finish.

I think the best thing would be to take out the BO row and then add the varigated back in as the BO for a nice contrast without taking they eye away from tyhe center..it will actually help focus the eye in towards the center more without it being too loud.

I did, and then laughed at the irony of just two stitches to go with only one inch of yarn...

I vote for the frog and re-knit in the center color. It will look intentional. The smaller needle idea has potential problems= cause the edge to pucker or curl up/still not make enough extra length to finish in the turq. The change of color will make it exceptionally yours.

I love your suggestion with the pink yarn, and think that would work very well. As an alternative, though, consider undoing one row and knitting it in one needle size smaller. That should give you just enough extra yarn for those two stitches. Alternately redo the last row knitting as tightly as you can. The extra bit of tugging will probably stretch it just enough.

I agree - I was going to suggest the same thing - undoing one row and going a size smaller or a tiny bit tighter

I would do the last row in a size smaller needle - should work just fine.

I would frog the last few rows and then knit them again. The yarn seems to stretch after un raveling. Has worked mant times for me.

I've also been known to unravel and stretch my yarn to its limit to get that extra few inches to finish a project! LOL!

If you are at the end of your project and can't get more matching yarn, finish it with whatever you have on hand of the same weight and complimentary color. Then make a block the size of the corner and put it on top of the place where you ran out of the yarn. Add a short strap and knit a small complimentary animal and attach it to the block. You can remove the animal for the child to play with and reattach it so the animal can travel with the blanket. Just a thought!

It's a simply 14 stitch short row garter stitch continuously around the edge, the most difficult part to learn was how to turn the corners.

Do you have a tail from your cast on? If so, could you splice a bit onto your end of ball to finish the last two stitches? That might work...Your idea with the pink is also cute and could work very nicely, making it truly one of a kind. If you used a blue similar to the body of the blanket for your embroidery, then your pink would look very purposeful.

If the yarn is still available, I would probably biy one more skein and finish the blanket, then make a toy to match with the leftover yarn.

If the yarn is 'broken' I would undo a row or two and start with new yarn.

I just had this happen with a hat I was crocheting (I do both). I pulled the last round out and put a matching boucle "trim". I was reminded why I don't like boucle but glad I keep it around - it totally looks like I meant to do it.

Rip back a few rows an tighten your gauge to 'stretch your yarn if you don't want a tag.

If I am envisioning this correctly, I think it would look like an intentional "Tag" that all babies love to chew and grip on.

I always end my ball of yarn at the end of beginning of the row so that it can be worked into the seam. I would pick back to the beginning of the row. I think white would look better than pink.

you can back track and knit a little tighter. I have had to do this to finish the neck on a sweater. But be careful not to knit too tight that can cause problems too. Good luck!
