What are you most proud of? This was my first real attempt at making a bargello with "curves" and I love how it turned out. The quilt is really quite small, about 40" square, but it packs a huge visual punch! When I picked out my backing fabric, I realised that I didn't have quite enough but then it turned out that the little leftover strip from the front was JUST the right size to insert into the back to make it work! Serendipity!

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Don't be afraid of this - it's very simple strip piecing. As long as you lay out your pieces and don't get mixed up while you're sewing, it will turn out fine. If not, there's always the handy seam ripper!

I like it. So many quilters seem to be afraid of bright colors. I think that's what makes them beautiful. Did you use a pattern for this?

Thank you! I didn't use a pattern - just browsed online to look at photos and skim over tutorials, then just jumped in and hoped for the best! I was a little worried that the colours were too crazy but when it was all put together and framed with a border, it turned out just right! Thanks for looking! I'll be putting up more projects as I get time.

I did follow Bonnie Hunter's (at Quiltville.com) basic instructions for a regular bargello block to learn the strip piecing method. She has a lot of really fantastic (and free!) patterns on her blog
