Materials

Fabric Panels and co-ordinating backing fabric and piping

What was your inspiration?

This quilt was design specially for a young girl who is battling cancer and her main love is horses. Just like mine.

Out of all my horse fabric, this fabric panel attracted me the most because of its rich colours.

What are you most proud of?

I got as many horses I could get on a wall hanging as the back is of co-ordinating fabric, so she has a herd of horses to cover her.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

The four panel is easy to complete by just adding borders, however, you can emblish as much as you want to.

To complete, you need to buy two panels to get enough border to complete a wall hanging. Add border to panel along with piping. Complete any emblishments that you want to add like hand stitching, buttons, buckles, etc. Quilt each border around each picture (make sure your batting is behind and use at least a long stitch). Place backing and front panel with right sides together and sew along the piping, leaving a opening at the bottom so you can turn in side out. I tied the backing to the batting to keep everything together. Hand sew the opening and you are done.
