What are you most proud of? I actually like my primary photo because it gives the sense of depth and texture and color. Need your guidance on what works on the cropped tree pic vs one with sky.

These are both pretty and attractive intimate landscapes of fall. I think both work to show off the setting. The one with the sky could afford to have some brightening done to the dark areas. I am not sure what software you use, but all Adobe products include the ability to brighten dark areas without affecting bright areas. Lightroom works very well for this. In the image with just a hint of sky, that hint of sky helps us see more depth to the image. While I understand you wanting to include that stump in the foreground, it is not doing much for this composition. It either needs to have better light or a different emphasis. Now it is kind of a brown gray muddle of tonality that cannot compete with the colors of the trees. Rob
