Type of item: Clothing
For: Women
Style: Mod, Outdoorsy, Whimsical, Cute, Funky
Materials
Worsted weight multi-colored yarn (provenance unknown); stash yarns (Frog Tree alpaca) in red, blue, green and tan, double-pointed knitting needles size #5 and #7, yarn needle, markers or safety pins (optional), circular needle size 7 (optional, see pattern).
What was your inspiration?
I found the one skein of yarn for the body in a sale bin and snatched it up, though I didn't know what I was going to make with it. Hats are my go-to project as they are simple, quick and are great canvases for exploring color and design. I threw in the accent colors on a whim.
What are you most proud of?
This is one of my favorite hats, as it is colorful, comfy and warm, and the ruffles are always fun!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
This is a great project for using up that stray skein of yarn, or for buying one skein of that precious yarn at your LYS with no idea how to use it. Put it together with complementary yarns in your stash, and you will have a hit!
