What was your inspiration?
I really did plan to have this finished by October, but I kept making it more complicated. It started out with the idea of just a simple border until I had the main leaf section done. It was just too plain and dull somehow. So I stopped work and started thinking and looking at photos online. When I saw a picture of a small table runner with the scalloped border laid onto stripes I knew that was what I had to do. Creating this new border was a learning experience, to say the least. The rick-rack popped out at me when I was making an apron and the funny little nut-like appliqued shapes wee an afterthought. The top is finally done, but I like this so much that I refuse to quilt it till I've really practiced and conquered FMQ with the aid of two wonderful Craftsy courses that I'm taking.
What are you most proud of?
That scalloped border! What a challenge!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Patience, patience, patience. lol!
