What was your inspiration?

I saw a ruana shawl in a clothing catalog and had never heard of a ruana before. I looked it up and had to create one of my own using thread!

What are you most proud of?

I love the way the combinations of red, orange and black came out using two strands of thread together.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Using two strands of thread together makes the project go more quickly. This is a repeating pattern for most of the shawl, with a length of thread left at the end of each row to create the fringe at the front and back. Follow the instructions closely for the neck shaping section which only has fringe along the bottom edge of the back.

Finished Sizes:
Small: 35" wide x 56" long
Large: 44" wide x 56" long

This pattern is available for $4.50 and is written in U.S. terms.
