What materials did you use? Fat quarters

What are you most proud of? I decided to get ahead and do the flowers as well. Also decided to add a butterfly as I thought it needed something to fill in the space. I have fused them and will applique them soon. For the handle, I did it differently than Laura and used vliesofix to fuse the fabric, leaving a quarter inch of fabric around to tuck under as I fused it to the background. I used my own template for the handle as my printer is not working so could not print off the instructions.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? The only thing is the side pieces that are sewn to the side of the basket. I cut my two rectangles out from the background fabric according to the instructions, thinking it was ok. After reading some comments here, I checked and realised that they are too small, so luckily I had just enough background fabric left to cut out. I would suggest cutting them to 6 inches by 3 3/4 inches rather then the 4 3/4 inches suggested. Better to have more than not enough!

I wanted to add something to the top part as I thought there was just a bit too much space around the handle. But I didn't want to overdo it, so I though I would put a butterfly, I think that was enough.

Thank you for your comments. I still have to do the stitching around the flowers so will update the photo once I've done that, not for a bit as we are also busy with exchange students in our house at the moment. My own sewing machine is packed away in its cabinet. I used my daughter's machine to piece this block together. Felt strange using another machine (I'm so used to my own) even though it is the same brand and model as my own.

I'm definitely going to try to do a butterfly. It looks great.
