What was your inspiration?
This little mini quilt was made for a dear lady. She has been a great friend to me and I want her to know that my thoughts are with her as she fights her battle. The winged hearts seemed perfect, as I want this quiltlet to carry my love to her.
What are you most proud of?
I love the way the paints transformed the look of the quilt. I used circle and straight templates to create a frame for the heart wreath, then used Derwent Inktense colored pencils mixed with InkFusion by sewfarsewgood.org to liquefy the pencils and turn them into paints. It's a super fun technique to play with and is a lot like playing with your kid's Crayons!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Go for it. Your design doesn't have to be tiny and intense; you can paint anything!
