I used two novelty prints and a coordinating solid to create this Kindle cover. The lining fabric provided the inspiration for the velcro tab that closes the cover.
What was your inspiration?
My mother graduated from Auburn University and is a huge fan. When I found out she was getting a Kindle for Christmas, I decided to make her a cover for it out of some Auburn novelty fabric I had found earlier this year.
What are you most proud of?
There are several options for the closure on a cover like this, and I think this one worked out perfectly with the image from the contrasting fabric (the lining is a white background version of the blue fabric on the outside).
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Measurements are important - most are available online in the specification section of the electronic device (ipad, Kindle, Nook, etc.) Play with the fabrics a little to see what you like best. There are pre-quilted fabrics that would also work, but I quilted these myself!
