Share a little about the materials, processes and techniques used to create this piece. I'm not a big fan of drawing palm trees, but when I went outside this morning to draw I realized that at least it's not cold or snowy! Anyway, did the border and used water soluble graphite.

I think palm trees are difficult to draw. It looks like the water soluble graphite solves some problems I have had. I like the softness it gives these hard edged fronds.

Thank you Sistykay, you are right about that. It is one more reason we should carefully consider our materials.

Hello katmosphere, Pleased to read that you were drawing the palm trees in a temperate and sunny clime. The mid-tone border has helped with the spatial structure and that space may have been further enhanced with a light wash over the white area [sky?]. The placement of the eye-level line is good, with the depiction of the fence you succeeded in a simple but believable rendering of one-point perspective. All-in-all another charming experience made all the more so with your perspective knowledge. Congratulations. I look forward to the posting of your next drawing.

By the way, You did very well with a difficult subject matter, the fronds of the palm trees.
