Aspen's Quilt

Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Quilting Quickly II: Patterns, Techniques & Tips »

Instructions

Just have fun, and do the quilt one block at a time. I also was inspired by the quilting classes I signed up for from Craftsy. I like to quilt with variegated thread.

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Functional

For: Children

Style: Cute, Whimsical, Casual

Materials

I decided to use the strip stars from Quilting Quickly 2 for this quilt. I used scraps I had. I decided to use up fabrics left over from other projects.

What was your inspiration?

I had lots of smaller pieces of fabric with cute dainty flowers on it. This seemed like the perfect way to use them and give this to my Granddaughter who likes cute dainty flowers.

What are you most proud of?

That it turned out so cute and that Aspen loves it! I also like the fact I didn't have to go buy any additional fabric to make it.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

So your blocks one at a time if this is your first time doing this block. It was a fun project and I like doing it. All four parts of the star are exactly the same so it is easy to tell if you get off. Have lots of fun!

I like the way you included the "cute, dainty flowers" as each star. It's lovely.
