Share a little about the materials, processes and techniques used to create this cake: Cake is covered in fondant. Then used royal icing over tulle with stencil to create the lace effect on sides of tiers, then outlined the lace with royal icing. Flowers are all made from gum paste. There are roses, tiger lilies, hydrangeas, vanda orchids, shamrocks, leaves, filler flowers.
What advice would you give someone starting this project? Plan ahead and make plenty of flowers to allow for breakage. It took a lot of flowers to go up the whole cake. Make sure to have plenty of set up time, not able to prestack cake before delivery, so all stacking and placement of flowers had to be done at location.
