Artist's Pallette Mini Quilt: Quilting

Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Machine Quilting Negative Space »

Instructions

I am so excited about this project. It is for a quilt swap and the swirls and pebbles made it so much more special. My first attempt using Angela's instructions! Still need some work, but so happy with the results. Now I just need to finish the binding ;)

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

For: Other

Style: Whimsical, Cute

Materials

Cotton....solids and scraps. Paper pieced design, appliques. Embroidery floss stitches to highlight.

What was your inspiration?

My swap partner is an art teacher. I love flying geese and wanted to incorporate it into an "art theme"

What are you most proud of?

The WHOLE thing, right now! I designed the paper piecing. I am happy with my appliqueing by hand, I LOOOVE the quilting technique I learned in the class and I am happy I added embroidery to make it a bit more special!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Contact me ;)

Thanks so much!!! I haven't finished the classes yet. But that is why I love it, because I had unexpected things happen in my life and I can get right back where I left off!!!!

Yes. First time ever to do the swirls. Definitely need work, but I was pretty happy!!! All I have ever done FMQ wise is meandering, loops, and loops with symbols. I played around on a whole cloth, but nothing fancy!

Thanks Angela! I cannot believe that I am not even halfway through the classes and seeing such amazing improvement in my FMQ skills. I cannot wait to get a larger project on my longarm now!!!

Note: can't edit. Did this on my DSM..not my LA. It is only 14 inches so I didn't really want to set up the LA for it. So you CAN do it on a domestic!!!!!
