I used 22 gauge Artistic Wire for these. You can find it at any hobby store I think. I got mine from Hobby Lobby. It's very easy to work with. If you decide that you want to flatten it out make sure that you don't hammer it too much or it will eventually break.

Love these rings! I am interested in using Artistic Wire to make some ring splints for my hypermobile fingers. I am wondering, does the Artistic Wire hold it's shape well? I need something that can help keep my fingers from hyper extending.
