Far too nice to use as pot holders!! Would look stunning just hanging anywhere though. :)

Make lots and hang them up in an ever-changing wall quilt ( or is that a potholder quilt?) Thanks!

I've never taken an online class. Your silk screening and thread embellishing are tempting.

It looks like you did machine sew the binding. How did it look on the back, or how did you make it look good/even on the back? Love your project.

I did everything on the machine. No hand stiching for me, especially on a potholder! Keep making those squares. They are very versatile! Judith

I sewed the binding on the back first, then pulled it around, finishing the sewing on the front. It looks great--even if your stitching shows. You get used to doing it this way.

These are very pretty! I have a practical question - can I use bias tape for the borders? The bias tape I buy from the store is a polyester/cotton mix. Is that safe to use on a potholder? Or should cotton only for the potholders? Thank you!

Never mind, I got the answer to my question...you should not use synthetic *anything* in a pot holder. Not even with the thread! Here is more info: http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art70384.asp Thank you! :-)

These are great and a way to use up scraps. Did they make a dent in the scrap pile.

Well--not really. I actually make these and sell them to places like museum gift shops (The Visions Quilt Museum Shop has them all the time!) so I actually buy fabric for them. They are my "design practice" where I can work out colors and placement. Glad you like them!

Great way to make some nice Christmas gifts, too! You can adapt those practice square to lots of things--think placemats and glasses cases, small purses. . . .well, I could go on and on!

These are absolutely beautiful! The colors have brightened a rather dreary day. I'll have to sign up for your class as soon as I finish the ones I'm watching now. Hey, we're neighbors, I'm out in Platteville.
